Zeynabi Village in Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark to Host the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples

Dr Ebrahim Rostam Gurani, Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark, announced that the commemoration ceremony for the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples will be held on Monday, 11 August 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pasargad School Conference Hall in Zeynabi Village.

According to Qeshm Free Zone Media Centre, Rostam Gurani highlighted the significance of this international observance, noting that the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, commemorated annually on 9 August following a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate and safeguard Indigenous cultures, languages, traditions, and knowledge systems that constitute an essential part of the identity of local communities.
